Killeen Castle is a 600-acre estate in Dunsay, Co. Meath, well-known for being home to one of only two Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses in Ireland. The OCM team have been working alongside the team at Killeen Castle to create a dedicated PR strategy to help grow the image of Killeen Castle as a countryside escape for business, leisure and weddings. OCM have organised influencer and media stays, orchestrated multiple press releases to help showcase the 12th century estate and all of their offerings- including the vast space available for conferencing & events, exclusive weddings and corporate golfing getaways.
As part of the OCM sustainable responsibility plan, the team compiled a list of recommendations for Killeen Castle to include in their sustainable development plan. Sustainability is very important to our business and we exercise responsibility in implementing eco-friendly initiatives with all of our clients.
2025 was the first year that Killeen Castle played host to the HotelPlanner Irish Challenge golfing tournament. From the 7th – 10th of August, the castle estate welcomed 156 golfers to the award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. With Frenchman Oihan Guillamoundeguy clinching the title after a thrilling 4-day tournament on the world-class golf course in Ireland’s Ancient East.
OCM achieved an exceeded PR value of €100,000 for the coverage of the Irish Challenge at Killeen Castle. We also distributed the exciting news that the castle estate would host the tournament for 3 consecutive years.
January 2026 marked a new beginning for Killeen Castle. Working alongside Maurica Mackle and Romantic Castles of Ireland, we had the pleasure of announcing that the Corscadden family added the historic Meath destination to their portfolio of exclusive wedding venues.
A celebrated icon of Irish history, the renovations on the 800-year old Killeen Castle are expected to begin later in early 2026, with a full reopening of the castle scheduled for 2028.
The acquisition of Killeen Castle marks a new chapter in Romantic Castles of Ireland’s portfolio, which currently includes four of Ireland’s best-loved castles: Ballyseede Castle in Co. Kerry, Bellingham Castle in Co. Louth, Cabra Castle in Co. Cavan, and Markree Castle in Co. Sligo.
